Last generation: Let’s talk about it!

They disturb, they agitate and they can no longer be ignored. The Last Generation polarises with its protests and yet gathers more and more people behind it. The next big wave of protests has been announced for May. In March and April, the people behind the Last Generation are touring Austria and inviting people to discussion evenings.

In November 2022, the group poured art oil on a glass pane in front of the painting “Death and Life” by Gustav Klimt, in February 2023 they climbed a toll bridge on the Südosttangente and again and again they block entire streets in the provincial capitals to draw attention to the impending climate catastrophe.

Their two simple core demands to the federal government: 100 km/h on motorways and no new oil and gas projects in Austria.

The demands are known to many people in Austria, but why the Last Generation does not organise conventional demonstrations and instead takes the path of civil disobedience is not always communicable through simple media coverage.

That is why the people behind the protests invite you to a discussion evening and answer the many questions from the public.

When? 20 April, 18:30

Where? Auditorium 11, Oscar-Morgenstern-Platz 1
