The origin of this discrepancy is unknown. To resolve this intriguing puzzle, new experiments have been designed with the concrete goal to improve in the next few years the already impressive accuracy of 0.54 parts per millions reached by previous measurements.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>This calls for improved theory predictions. Standard Model uncertainties are dominated by virtual low-energy strong interaction effects that cannot be computed\u00a0using perturbative quantum chromodynamics. In particular, the hadronic light-bylight\u00a0<\/em><em>scattering (HLbL) corrections are emerging as a potential roadblock for a more\u00a0precise theoretical evaluation. In order to compute the HLbL contribution, indeed, we had to rely so far on hadronic models introducing sources of systematic errors that are difficult, if not impossible, to quantify.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>I will present the basic features and numerical results of a novel framework which by exploiting the general principles of unitarity and analyticity, paves the way for the first data-driven determination of HLbL with controlled uncertainties.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anl\u00e4sslich des Habilitationsverfahrens f\u00fcr das Fach &#8220;Particle Physics&#8221; von Dr. Massimiliano Procura findet am Freitag, den 13.10.2017, um 15:00 Uhr im Ludwig Boltzmann H\u00f6rsaal ein Vortrag von ihm statt.
