Dear Students,
we are excited to announce the second edition of “Celebrating Women* in Physics”, which will take place on Thursday, 5th of May at the Sky Lounge (Oskar-Morgenstern-Platz 1, 1090 Vienna), to celebrate the International Day of Women* and Girls* in Science.
This free, in-person event aims to highlight careers and experiences of women* in physics with a multifaceted scientific programme, which will include a workshop on Gender & Diversity in the Cultures of Physics, scientific talks by renowned Physicists working in Austria and a panel discussion on the experiences of female* scientists at the various stages of their careers.
Moreover, this year’s event will include a poster session to showcase works led or shaped by women and gender minority scientists. Prospective participants are asked to upload a short abstract (max. 1 A4 page) by 11th of April via the web form. We accept all topics related to physics and participants from all stages of their scientific career. Participants will have the chance of winning a prize for the best poster, so we are looking forward to many great contributions! Please make sure to advertise this opportunity to your students as well 🙂
Attendance is free and open to everybody upon registration at: https://vds-physics.univie.ac.at/your-benefits/student-led-meetings/celebrating-women-in-physics/
We are looking forward to seeing many of you there!
